We are excited to welcome your child to school on Tuesday September 8, 2026.  Facilities staff have been working throughout the break to prepare school sites for another year of learning, friendship, and fun.  You will find your child’s class assignment in School Day.  Please have a look at the map to help prepare for the first day of school.

Entry Doors

Students will find a chair in the entry area – on the tarmac with their class and teacher name listed.  Your teacher will meet you there on the first day, to help orient to entry procedures as we get accustomed to our new classes and routines. 

Late arrivals

Students arriving after the start of day will need to come to the front door, ring the bell, and sign in at the office.  It is best for students that they arrive on time as a number of important things happen at the start of the day, including connecting, orienting to the daily schedule, and in many cases literacy blocks. Struggling to get here on time? Reach out to your educator, or the main office for ideas on how to make morning routines work for your child.

Entry to the school

Students and classes have assigned entry doors to address the safe flow of entry and exit.  Entry is an important time, allowing students to get settled, and educators to take attendance in a timely manner.  Please take note of your student’s entry and exit doors, and make a plan to meet them at an agreed upon spot at dismissal.  If you are picking up students early, please let office staff know before 2pm when possible.  We are not always staffed to answer phones at the end of the day as we are managing dismissal for students.

School day Schedule

You will notice that our school day schedule has changed — this is to better align with board wide schedules, and to accommodate uninterrupted block of literacy (120 minutes) and numeracy (60 minutes) for students.  NOTE that nutrition break times have changed.  The schedule is included here.

Drive to 5 and Parking

Find areas to park within a 5 minute walk of the school, where you will avoid parking infractions, and enjoy a fun walk to school.  We are encouraging students to walk safely, crossing at corners or signed crosswalks.
