On Monday, September 28, 2026, at a Board meeting, Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) Trustees will receive a report initiating a boundary review process that will include the following schools:
- Edna Staebler Public School
- Vista Hills Public School
- Abraham Erb Public School
- Laurelwood Public School
We are sharing this information with WRDSB students, staff, parents, families, and caregivers to raise awareness and inform you of this process. Parents, families and caregivers will have opportunities to share their input during public information sessions. More details about the process will be provided at that time. Information about the West Waterloo School Boundary Review is available on the WRDSB website.
Review Purpose
The primary purpose of this boundary review is to ensure we can continue to meet the needs of students, parents, families and caregivers in the years ahead. We are conducting this review to examine options that would allow students to attend the school closest to their homes. Proposed changes would support more walkable school boundaries.
Vista Hills and Laurelwood Public Schools will not accept out-of-boundary requests for the 2026-27 school year. This change is supported by Administrative Procedure 1040. This status will be reevaluated after the boundary review.
Regardless of the Board of Trustees’ decision, there will be no changes before June 2027.
